LCBP presents The Okee Dokee Brothers!!! February 28th, 2013
On February 28th, LCBP brought the Grammy-winning Okee Dokee Brothers to town for a performance at Steffes Auctioneers. It was amazing!!! They played to a crowd of 350 excited parents, kids, and fans. The result: a totally fun community event AND more money raised for the Litchfield Community Built Playground!!!
Play for the Park - January 27th, 2013
LCBP teamed up with Pump Up Your Party Inflatables and hosted a Play for the Park event featuring inflatables (Pump Up Your Party donated them - you definitely need to check out this awesome local company!) and a bake sale. It was a snowy and icy day, but over 250 people braved the slippery streets and made it to the high school and had a fun time!!! We raised $1,000 in donations, sold a bunch of pickets, got a sponsorship from Northland Auto (of the train!), and a bunch of awesome Litchfielders signed up to volunteer for the park. Plus, another bunch of volunteers donated baked goods and helped supervise inflatables. At the end of the day, this successful event was just another instance of the amazing community that we live in!
Design Day - October 7th, 2012
LCBP's Design Day was on October 9th, 2012. A professional playground designer, Jane Holman, visited with Litchfield students at Ripley, Wagner, and St. Phillips to get their input about what should go into the new playground. That afternoon, Jane sequestered herself and worked non-stop on a sketch of the new park incorporating all the GREAT IDEAS from our very own Litchfield experts! Finally, that evening, there was a Community Celebration at 4B'z Event Center where the new playground schematic was unveiled alongside singing, cake, and face painting. So many people came out that it was standing room only!!
